Platelet Rich Plasma is a viable non-surgical option for those suffering with hair thinning or hair loss. Platelet Rich Plasma is the new standard for restoring hair without going under the knife.
What is PRP Hair Restoration?
Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is a type on non-surgical therapy for both men and women suffering from hair loss. The treatment involves drawing blood and processing it until only the protein enriched cells remain. It is the gold standard solution for regrowing hair because Platelet Rich Plasma contains important proteins – growth factors – needed to stimulate natural hair growth. PRP is safe because it’s your own blood. And, it is easily combined with other treatments to maximize hair regrowth. View Natural Look Photo Gallery
How does PRP Hair Restoration work?
PRP Hair Restoration works by separating protein-rich cells from blood. These enriched cells contain cytokines and powerful growth factors that have been proven to stimulate hair regrowth and follicle function. When injected directly into the treatment area, the dormant hair follicles awaken and begin to generate new hair.
How is PRP Hair Restoration Performed?
PRP Hair Restoration begins with a simple blood draw similar to having routine lab work done. The blood is processed in a centrifuge separating the protein-rich cells, Platelet Rich Plasma. At Natural Look Medical Spa, we use the Eclipse Method which is the most advanced to harvest the maximum amount of quality PRP. This is a time where more is better. We use twice the amount of PRP to ensure a rapid response to the treatment site.
We also combine PRP with an additional step to maximize the effectiveness of PRP therapy. After your blood is drawn, a non-surgical erbium laser is used to awaken the follicles and prepare the treatment area for the injections of PRP. The combined therapies results in faster hair regrowth than PRP alone.
When will I start to notice a difference?
Results can vary, but typically visual improvements are seen within 3-4 months.
Who is a good candidate for PRP Hair Restoration?
Both men and women of all skin types are candidates for PRP hair regrowth. The best candidates for hair restoration treatments are those with weak-quality of hair growth and those with patches of alopecia areata. You will be advised during your complimentary consultation if you are a good candidate for PRP Hair Restoration.
How many treatments will I need?
The protocol for PRP Hair Restoration is three treatments to maximize hair regrowth. Each Laser/PRP treatment is done once a month- for 3 months – for a total of 3 treatments. You may notice less hair falling out and within three to four months notice new hairs in areas where hair was thinning. There is really not a cure for hair loss, but reliable methods for slowing hair loss and restoring areas of mild to moderate to thinning are available.
What causes hair thinning and hair loss?
There are several reasons for hair loss. Some may be permanent and other causes may only be temporary.
